Kick off the Easter Weekend at Mullum Farmers Markets
Bluesfest revellers should head to the legendary Mullum Farmers Markets on Friday morning to see why it was voted the most “Outstanding Farmers Market’ in Australia. It’s a stunning venue and it has delicious breakfast choices from around the globe
You can stock up on all your camping and healthy snacking provisions for the days ahead. Whilst tapping your feet along to live music The Farmers Markets are a must see on any visitor’s itinerary to experience the friendly, colourful community vibe of Mullumbimby and the incredible food produced in our region.
Treat yourself to an outdoor breakfast, which showcases the local produce. Your choices include rustic Sicilian food, Korean dumplings, sushi, Indonesian street food, French Crepes, vegan & raw food, pastries, and sourdough doughnuts. You can wash all this down with either locally grown coffee, smoothies, juices, cane juice and kombucha.
Good Friday is one of the most festive days on the farmer’s market calendar. In the spirit of the Bluesfest we have three of our finest local musicians entertaining the breakfast crowds. Jerome Williams, Jesse Witney and Burning Hands.
Jerome describes his music as ‘acoustic fusion’. His high energy, guitar drumming electric performance is guaranteed to get your feet stomping.
You’ll find all the fresh produce you need to stock up the fridge, including meat, seafood, fruit and vegetables, bread, milk and eggs, as well as delicious local nibbles such as macadamias and pecans, olives, fresh dips and award-winning farmhouse cheeses.
The markets’ bakers, Crabbes Creek Woodfired and Scratch Patisserie, will be bringing along their freshly baked breads and popular hot cross buns, made with organic flour and spices. Sweet n Sourdough will be bringing their doughnut twist of a hot cross bun along with their addictive sourdough doughnuts.
For those of you looking for your chocolate fix, Puremelt Chocolate will have their range of hand-made, organic, vegan, fair-trade and ethically-sourced deliciousness with 30% of all profits going toward the North Coast flood appeal.
Mullumbimby Farmers Market Good Friday market will be held from 7am-11am at Mullumbimby Showground.
Music
This week we have three amazing musicians playing. One the main stage (Pyramid Stage) is Jerome Williams on the Coral Avenue Stage (Cheesy end) is Tilley and at the main car park (Eggy pop stage) is Phil Howel
Jerome Williams
Jerome describes his music as “melodic, percussive, funky – R n B based roots with a touch of rap and a sprinkling of Jazz”… or as he likes to call it ‘acoustic fusion’. He has meshed together guitar techniques and styles from across the musical landscape coupled with funky soulful / even hard hitting rock / rap vocals that he seamlessly fuses elements of classic roots with contemporary and progressive genres.
Blending such varied influences as Usher, Kendrick ,John Butler, Rodrigo Y Gabriella, Linkin Park, Eminem, Victor Wooten and Ray Charles… one can begin to grasp his scope and incredible ability. Jeromes’ eclectic collection of instrumental and vocal song writing skills combined with his ability to push musical boundaries make this multi- instrumentalist with a captivating smile destined for something big!
Jerome grew up in Melbourne from a long line of music industry professionals and world renown musicians who have played and recorded and performed with with the likes of Bob Dylan, Savage Garden, Jon English Air Supply , Dionne Warrick ,Steve Marriot and Humble Pie to name a few.
Jerome moved to Northern Rivers in 2007 attending the NSW Conservatorium. He studied at UNE and Australian Music Guild
He has worked as a professional musician from Brisbane / Gold Coast / Sth East QLD and Northern Rivers music scene since 2010. His first passion is guitar but is a multi instrumentalist including bass, keys, drums and percussion and Japanese Koto.
