MULLUMBIMBY Farmers Market’s big Easter Friday market is on again, offering super fresh local produce, hand made Easter choccies, freshly baked hot cross buns, flowers and gifts.

Along with the usual line up of stalls, great local coffee and delicious breakfast choices, there’ll be live music and extra entertainment for the kids, including arts and crafts, circus activities and some special visitors.

At the market, you’ll find all the supplies you need to get you through the Easter long weekend, including fresh fruit and veg, bread, milk, meat, cheese, honey, olives, nuts and dips.

For Easter chocolate with a difference, visit the Puremelt Chocolate stall and pick up some of their handmade, healthy raw chocolate Easter eggs, available in rasberry and Davidson plum flavours. Puremelt also have yummychocolate brownies and melt-in-the mouth fudge. Meanwhile, the dark or milk chocolate covered macadamias from Rainforest Foods or Nudgel Nutsmake a great locally grown alternative to Easter chocolate.

For real hot cross buns, visit Heart Bread or Crabbes Creek Woodfired, who will both be baking a big batch just in time for Easter.

If you’d like some flowers to brighten your day (or someone else’s )  Jumping Red Ant have some gorgeous roses available now. The cooler mornings mean the rose heads are extra large and the colours more vibrant than usual. Lily Liz also has have her usual array of pretty flowering plants.

Next door, you’ll find Happy Flame’s 100 percent beeswax candles, including some special candles made just for Easter, including flowers, eggs, bunnies and bees.

New to the market is Damien Curtis of the Byron Bay Smokehouse, who creates delicious smoked fish products with local, sustainably caught fish, including a fish rillettes (dip) made with cashew cream. For fresh oysters, see Noel at Brunswick Seed Oysters, and if you’re planning an Easter roast, pick up one of the pasture raised chooks from Byron Creek Farm, or visit the Byron Bay Pork or Hayters Hill Farm stalls.

The market is the perfect spot for a relaxed Good Friday breakfast – choose from the Nomadic Kitchen’s Sicilian inspired food, Mayfields Aussie style egg, bacon, mushroom and beans breakfasts, Taiwanese style dumplings, fresh sushi from the Doma crew, Indonesian street food, flaky hand made French pastries and sausage rolls from Scratch Patisserie, or Not Just a Tarts’s amazing home made cakes and vegan snacks.

Kiddies Plot

Families love the market because there’s always something to keep the kids busy. In the Kiddie’s Plot, little ones can get creative with hands-on activities like gardening and permaculture, screen-printing and arts and crafts.
