May 3, 2024 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 am
| FreeThe Harvest Trail is an event created by Northern Rivers Food (NRF), a not for profit member based food group. NRF was established by people in the food industry from the “paddock to the plate” to support the food industry in the Northern Rivers. NRF aims to connect people in the local food industry by providing regular events, workshops & networking opportunities.
For our second year our Award winning Farmers Markets will be opening the Harvest Trail, on Friday morning 3rd May at 8.30am, with a Welcome to Country by Auntie Delta Kaye. This will be followed by a Bush Tucker Experience with three very formidable women, Auntie Delta, Mindy Woods and Rebecca Barnes. The event will include Auntie Delta, a proud Bunjalung elder, sharing her wisdom of Culture and stories. This will be followed by a Bush Tucker cooking demo at 9:30 a.m. with Master Chef finalist and first indigenous Hatted Chef Mindy Woods. To complete the experience, at 10:30 a.m., learn to grow bush tucker food with Rebecca Barnes from Playing with Fire, a Rural Women of the Year finalist.
