Book signing
August 5, 2016 @ 7:00 am - 11:00 am
| FreeA trio of passionate local foodies and authors will be signing copies of their books and offering free sample plates of their recipes at a special event at the Mullumbimby Farmers Market this Friday, August 5.
Veet Karen Hedley, who runs Mullumbimby-based vegetarian catering business, Veet’s Cuisine, and recently opened Australia’s first vegetarian cooking school, will be signing copies of her two cookbooks: Delicious Vegetarian Recipes, which features more than 100 vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free recipes inspired by the local produce of the Byron Shire; and Fresh and Vibrant, a raw food cook book focussed on tasty gluten free, dairy free and vegan food.
She will be joined by local vegan chef and caterer, Anthea Amore, of Organic Passion Catering, whose recently published cookbook, Passion, features vegan, sugar free, gluten free and raw living food recipes like beetroot and lime gazpacho, Sang Choy Bow with crispy tempeh, chocolate salted hazelnut fudge and mini raw lemon & blueberry cheezecake, as well as chapters that explore some of the philosophies behind vegan organic eating.
Chef, food writer, restaurant reviewer, cooking teacher and one-time food columnist for the Byron Shire Echo, Victoria Cosford, will also be a special guest, signing copies of her gastro memoir, Amore and Amaretti: A Tale of Love and Food in Tuscany.
The event will be held at the Mullumbimby Farmers Market this Friday 7am-11am.
Kiddies Plot
