SUMMARY:Mullumbimby Farmers’ Market March 5th
DESCRIPTION:SEED SAVING EVENT \nWe are excited to have @byronhinterlandseedsavers join us again tomorrow for a seed swapping event. Please bring any spare seeds you’d like to share. If you don’t have any seeds this time you are still very welcome. As we know that after planting with these local seeds you’ll have an abundance for our next workshop. Happy Planting everyone\, Autumn is in the air!!! \nMusic\nEvery Week Mullumbimby Farmers’ Market hosts live music from talented local musicians.\nThis week’s musicians are: \nMain Stage: Broadwater \nCoral Avenue Cheesy stage: Will Henderson \nChinbible Choons Stage: Phil \n\n\nThis week we have Broadwater\, a local duo comprising Matt Day & Jessie Rose. Expect a vast array of styles and moods from this dynamic pair. \nThe duo formed shortly after meeting in late 2019 when Jessie was recording Matt as part of her SAE degree in Audio. They’ve been bunkered down in their home studio for the better part of 2020 and are currently working on a music video for their next release ‘Home’. Matt says “This year has been tough. Trying to manage finances as a musician during a global crisis hasn’t been easy. Having the opportunity to play live again means I have the ability to sustain myself not just in the body but in the mind and spirit.” \n\nKiddies Plot\nFamilies love the market because there’s always something to keep the kids busy. In the Kiddie’s Plot\, little ones can get creative with hands-on activities like gardening and permaculture\, screen-printing and arts and crafts. \nThis week we have arts and crafts and kids yoga for free. Plus you can have some beautiful face painting for a small fee \nMullumbimby Farmers’ Market Famous Merch!\nAnd\, as always\, we’ll be here selling our locally famous Mullumbimby Farmers’ Market merchandise. SUMMARY:Mullumbimby Farmers’ Market Feb 26th
DESCRIPTION:Music\nEvery Week Mullumbimby Farmers’ Market hosts live music from talented local musicians.\nThis week’s musicians are: \nMain Stage: Skyeater \nCoral Avenue Cheesy stage: Phil the Howler \nChinbible Choons Stage: Tilley \n\nSky Eater is the daring ‘mermaid trip-hop dub’ story of two multi-instrumental warriors: sax-wielding Chelsea Skyeater\, armed with dubbed-out honey vocals\, powerfully vulnerable lyrics and lush keys – and dub soldier TK Bassdread with his artillery of beastly bass\, beats and vocals\, and of course more live dubs. \n\n\nOften vocally described as a “modern day Sade” and compared to Morcheeba\, Sky Eater take their audiences on a “mesmerising and elegant” (Nkechi – Roots n All) journey that is full of soul and jazz moments. They released their debut EP in January 2019 and backed it up with numerous festival appearances and extensive touring throughout Queensland\, New South Wales\, Victoria and Aotearoa New Zealand’s South Island. They are due to release their next single and have a full length album currently in the works. This powerhouse duo is a definite up and coming act that is not to be missed! \n\nKiddies Plot\nFamilies love the market because there’s always something to keep the kids busy. In the Kiddie’s Plot\, little ones can get creative with hands-on activities like gardening and permaculture\, screen-printing and arts and crafts. \nThis week we have arts and crafts and kids yoga for free. SUMMARY:Farmers' Market Feast w Francisco’s Table
DESCRIPTION:Roaming restaurant Francisco’s Table will host a farmers’ market feast under the fig trees of the Mullumbimby Showground\, on Friday\, March 18. \nThe special outdoor event will be held following the Mullumbimby Farmers’ Market and will feature produce sourced fresh from local farmers and producers. \nChef Francisco Smoje and partner Emma –  known for their regular pop-up restaurant events at Coorabell\, Federal\, Bangalow and Corndale halls – will create one of their signature four-course lunches that are enjoyed by guests at shared tables. \nFrancisco says the inspiration to take Francisco’s Table outdoors grew out of his regular Friday morning visits to the Mullumbimby Farmers Market: \n“I always had this idea for us (Francisco’s Table) to be more guerilla-style and pop up here\, there and everywhere. There are a lot of places I’d like to do lunch and dinners that we haven’t explored\, and the market has always been one of them. Every time I sit to have my Nomadic Kitchen breakfast\, I look at the fig trees and just think: ‘this would be an awesome place for a lazy lunch on a Friday afternoon.’” \nThe menu is yet to be revealed\, but will feature the honest\, simple\, and slightly decadent food that is the trademark of Francisco’s Table. Previous feasts have included dishes like marinated local olives\, locally made cheese by Cheeses Loves You and Francisco’s own sourdough; cuttlefish and clams with organic heirloom tomatoes from Fox Farm at Newrybar; braised brisket\, barbecued corn\, mayo and parmesan with mustard greens\, pickles and cabbage; and desserts like poached quinces with creme fraiche\, meringue and roasted cinnamon almonds\, or moscato jelly with poached peaches and vanilla custard. \nA strong exponent of cooking locally and seasonally\, Argentinean-born Francisco goes to great lengths to source his produce from farmers markets or local producers directly\, and says the quality and diversity of produce in our region is hard to beat. \n“It’s an amazing place to be a cook\,” he said. \n• Francisco’s Table is at the Mullumbimby Showgrounds next Friday\, March 18. To book\, call 0416 057 705 or email francisco.food@gmail.com \nKiddies Plot\nFamilies love the market because there’s always something to keep the kids busy.
